Pocket watches are replaced by wrist watches nowadays although it was considered feminine to wear pocket watches. People soon realized that a pocket watch is more convenient and easily accessed when one needs to watch the time. It’s more convenient in a way that one does have to again and again take out the watch from his pocket to have a look at the time. Since the demand for pocket watches fell companies lessened the production of pocket watches. Also with the increasing number of inventions like mobile phones, iPods and other items that are kept in the pockets, people prefer not to keep an additional item like a pocket watch in the pockets. Pockets watches are sometimes used as a means of hypnotizing a person as shown in films and televisions. This is probably a fake assumption. Pocket watches are very delicately decorated and so still in popular demand in some parts of the world.
